Each year the programme distributes around £160,000 to community and voluntary groups in Brentford TW8 and Ealing W5, W7 and W13 postcodes.
The Ealing Equality Council is an organisation that has long helped disadvantaged people in Ealing to improve their quality of life and overcome poverty and prejudice. Pathways awarded a grant to The Ealing Equality Council to contribute towards core costs. Grant: £14,000
Ealing Skatepark Association (ESA)
The Ealing Skatepark Association is an organisation providing a place for people to exercise and meet other individuals interested in skateboarding. They also run skateboarding classes for people of all ages and from all walks of the community who wish to explore the sport. The Ealing Skatepark Association received £5,000 from Pathways, to fund the delivery of skateboard coaching sessions for girls and women. Grant: £5,000
Advocacy Voice
Provides advocacy for people with learning difficulties to enable them to express their views, wishes, and interests, and to access the services they need. The grant helped Advocacy Voice to employ a coordinator. Grant: £6,000
Brentford FC Community Sports Trust
Runs football coaching sessions for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Ealing, Hounslow and Richmond areas. The Pathways grant helps to pay for coaching staff and management costs. Grant: £20,000pa (for three years)
An important event for the local community, with stalls, food, entertainment and sports. The Pathways grant contributes to essential facilities at the festival including security guards, equipment, marquees and staging. Grant: £2,500
Brentford Toy Library
A service providing low-cost toys on loan and play sessions for pre-school children, widely used by disadvantaged families in the area. The Pathways grant funds a part-time manager and helps towards core running costs. Grant: £74,800 (since 2007)
Helps homeless people (and people at risk of homelessness) across London, including providing food, shower and laundry facilities, medical services and skills classes to homeless people. The Pathways grant helps to train people in employability skills. Grant: £13,000
Dementia Concern is an Ealing-based charity that offers support to members of the community with various forms of dementia. Services include advice and information, advocacy, support, weekend day care, and social events. The latest grant from Pathways, which began in August 2011, is being used to support the Dementia Links service to isolated dementia clients and their carers. Grant: £7,431
Home-Start Ealing is the Ealing-based branch of Home-Start, an organisation offering support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children. Pathways provided Home-Start Ealing with a grant worth £9,500 from July 2011 for one year, to contribute towards the costs of training and recruiting volunteers to support families living in the W5/W13/W7 areas. Grant: £9,500
Open House Café (St Paul’s Church, Brentford)
The Open House Café is a café run by The Parish of Brentford and based at St Paul’s Church in Brentford. Pathways provided The Parish of Brentford with a grant worth £10,000 for one year from August 2011, to contribute towards 10% of the annual core running costs for the Open House Café. Grant: £10,000
Soul in Brentford unites seven churches in the Brentford area to encourage and support the work of each other in their local communities. They are committed to enhancing the quality of life for those who live and work in Brentford and its surrounding areas. Soul in Brentford received £950 to fund the delivery of their 2011 ‘Carols in the Park’ event. Grant: £950
The Volunteer Link Scheme
The Volunteer Link Scheme is an organisation providing one-to-one volunteer befriending to people who are housebound through disability or long-term illness. From July 2011, Pathways provided the Volunteer Link Scheme with a grant worth £5,500 for one year. This grant contributed towards the salary of a volunteer coordinator to support isolated/impaired clients and look after the relationship between clients and volunteer befrienders. Grant: £5,500
