I am ready to work, should I apply for a Hopes & Dreams grant?
Hopes & Dreams is specifically aimed at those who need financial backing to help start some training, qualifications, work experience or a business idea. It gives them the chance to try something new and develop skills and, for the majority of young people, the aim is to get back into training or education, as well as employment.
How many people need to form a group to apply for a Hopes & Dreams grant?
The minimum number of people we will consider as being a group is 5.
Can I still receive benefits if I am successful in getting a grant?
Young people who are on unemployment benefits can normally continue to receive these if awarded a grant. But it’s really important you let the Jobcentre know once you apply, so you can keep your Benefits.

You are able to apply for a grant if you graduated more than 6 months ago and meet our eligibility criteria.

Pathways does not offer business advice services so we strongly recommend you do seek some independent advice about your business idea to help you decide on if it can work.

The Hopes & Dreams grant can be used to buy essential equipment in order to produce some of your product or to fund a place on an outlet (such as a pop up shop or market stall) in order to practice selling to the general public.
