The new fence, costing approximately £50,000 and covering the entire perimeter of the Northfields allotments site, will increase its security and deter intruders from entering the site.

Also, Pathways has recently welcomed a new allotments worker, Merle Frew, to the Pathways team.

This year, we at Pathways experienced a much higher than average number of applications. With this greater number of applications came a series of highly promising and well thought out proposals. The unanimously high standard that was seen across all applications had proved to make choosing the strongest applicants a difficult task for the grants committee.

Ultimately, the grants committee decided that the applications from the following applicants were the strongest and requested funding towards work that was most in support of our own social aims and objectives in helping communities to move forward and be strengthened.

Successful applicants:

Pathways would like to congratulate all the successful applicants for Pathways grant funding.

All applicants will receive a letter explaining whether or not they were successful in applying for a grant. Unsuccessful applicants will shortly receive a letter indication that they have not been successful and the reason(s) why their application was not a success. Applicants with conditional offers for a grant will also receive a letter, that will explain the conditions they need to meet to receive a grant, or explain what further information Pathways have requested to be able to make a decision.

Thank you to all who applied. We regret that we are not able to provide funding to all applicants, and wish all unsuccessful applicants the best of luck for future applications they may make for grant funding with ourselves or any other funders.

Pathways - Helping communities move forward

We aim to provide a consistently high level of service to all our residents and stakeholders. We actively seek feedback on the services we deliver as this often helps us shape future service delivery.

Our complaints policy sets out the process that we use for dealing with complaints and concerns. The policy underpins our organisation’s values and our commitment to deliver a professional and honest service with a focus on the solution rather than the problem.

What is a complaint?

At Pathways we see a complaint as a statement that a situation is unsatisfactory or unacceptable. This could be a failure to do what we said we would do, or perhaps you are unhappy with the way you were treated.

A complaint maybe about the way we manage your home or scheme, or about our maintenance and repairs services, or the behaviour or our contractors or staff.

Anti-social behaviour and nuisance

If your complaint is regarding anti-social behaviour we will not use our complaints process to deal with it. We have a separate policy and procedure for dealing with such cases. We take reports of anti-social behaviour very seriously.

To find out about our policy and procedures for reporting anti-social behaviour please contact the Housing Team on 0300 123 2203.

You should expect to receive an acknowledgement letter from us within five working days of us receiving your complaint. It will tell you who is dealing with your complaint and when you should expect to receive a response.

Pathways will ask you at each stage to confirm that you are satisfied with the outcome or whether you wish to escalate the complaint to the next stage. Your complaint will be closed after ten working days.

Once received, our Corporate Services Team will deal with your complaint in line with our policy and procedures below:

Stage 1

The team responsible for the service which is being complained about will investigate your complaint and you should expect to receive a response within 10 working days.

Stage 2

The survey was very comprehensive and took varied factors into account, such as; quality of home, standard of repairs, satisfaction with performance of staff, access to local services, resident events and involvement, and opinions on the residents' newsletter and other communications material.

The results varied greatly between different schemes. We found that residents living in our Ealing based schemes tended to be the most satisfied. This was particularly the case with our residents living at Tawny Close.

Further information on the results of the residents' survey is included in the latest edition of our residents' newsletter.

Pathways are are working with Mansells on this project, to erect a block of eight flats across four floors.

Following a week of preliminary works, on-site work officially started on Monday 4 March 2013. Demolition of the old residents' hall began on 25 March 2013.

It is anticipated that the new flats will be ready for letting in early 2014.

Our architect, Stephen Reed of Kendall Kingscott Limited has provided us with this finished impression of the new flats (as in image).

This is a very exciting time for Pathways as this is the first project of this type that we have undertaken since we built Tawny Close in the 1990’s.

Amanda Conlon, our Head of Corporate Services, is the lead officer at Pathways for this project. If you have any questions, queries, or concerns regarding the 33 Dean Court redevelopment project, please contact her directly on 020 8777 4321.

Pathways - Helping communities move forward

Pathways awarded the Ealing Skatepark Association (ESA) with a grant to fund the provision of free skating classes for girls and women of all ages. The Ealing Skatepark Association did this in order to address the lack of female involvement in skating, and in particular to address a lack of female use of their services.

This is a groundbreaking and original scheme. Although the project is open to women and girls of all ages, the focus of the project on working with younger girls and women is what attracted Pathways to the prospect of funding the project and helping to fulfill our goal to help young people.

The courses are being held at the skatepark next to Gurnell Leisure Centre, and each consist of four two-hour sessions and under the guidance of a female skating tutor. The courses have attracted a huge level of interest from women and girls of all ages, from primary school to adult.

One participant who took part in the first session on Sunday 13th May, has said of the course:
"The first lesson was great fun. Excellent teachers and nowhere near as scary as I imagined it would be, having never stepped on a skateboard before!” Participant in first skating course
Bookings are currently being taken for courses starting in June, July and August. There are 100 places available to Ealing residents. But these places are expected to fill up quickly so please contact Ealing Skatepark Association direct if you wish to secure a place on one of their courses. Ealing Skatepark Association hope to secure funding to enable the delivery of similar programmes through to 2015.

Ealing Skatepark Association can be contacted via their Facebook page, or email Robin, the Chairman of the Ealing Skatepark Association: Robin@EalingSkateparkAssociation.com

If you are from a community-based organisation, like the Ealing Skatepark Association, that is working in Ealing and/or Brentford and wish to apply for funding towards work within the community, please apply online for consideration in the next round of funding from the Pathways Main Grants Programme (due to close Early 2013, on a date to be confirmed shortly).

Leyton United was founded in 1656 by the will of John Smith. They were rebuilt in 1885 in a Tudor style by Richard Creed FRIBA, who also designed the nearby Essex Cricket pavilion.

Jabez Legg built almshouses in Odessa Road, Forest Gate, known as the Forest Gate Retreat. Jabez Legg was a Congregational Minister of the Forest Gate church on Sebert Road. In 1939 the charity was amalgamated with the Edith Whittuck charity of Wimbledon and renamed the Legg-Whittuck Trust. Pathways' Main Grants Programme is open for applications from voluntary and community-based groups working in Ealing and/or Brentford. The closing date for applications is 30 July 2012, and a decision on who will receive a grant will be announced by 17 September 2012.

As with the last round of applications that took place earlier in the year, we are especially encouraging applications from voluntary and community-based groups that are working with young people to help them to make a positive contribution to their local communities. However, as usual applications are open to be made from any groups which fulfil our eligibility criteria.

If you wish to apply for a grant through Pathways, visit the page about the Pathways Main Grants Programme. From there you can fill in our online application form.
